Lebanon’s latest international test ended in a 3–1 defeat away to Kyrgyzstan. The result highlighted areas that will require attention, particularly defensive organisation, midfield control and the connection between midfield and attack.
For Madjid Bougherra and his staff, however, this remains part of a wider process. Building a competitive national team requires time, continuity and the right balance between locally based players and the growing pool of Lebanese talent developing abroad.
From The Whistle Podcast’s perspective, the diaspora remains an important part of that conversation. Across Europe and beyond, Lebanese-eligible players continue to emerge, creating greater competition and potentially giving the technical staff more options for the future.
One result should not define a new chapter. The response, the development and the decisions that follow will matter far more.
